We welcome frugalists and product reviewers to contribute to our growing community. Here’s what you need to know about writing and submitting articles on our site:
Word count: No minimums but posts typically run between 250-800 words. Please stay under 800 words. For longer articles, we may break-up the article into multiple pages.
Tone: Inclusive, accessible, and rational. Take a look around our site and see what we’ve previously posted as well as articles submitted by other members of our community.
Original Content: We ask that articles submitted be unique and original to Frugal Buzz. We DO NOT accept posts that have already been published or submitted elsewhere online or that you plan to distribute to other websites. Readers value original content. We are not interested in SEO-driven submissions (i.e. simply geared toward driving traffic to your blog or website) that are not in line with our philosophy: If you work for a content farm or are a freelancer who writes articles for the sole purpose of linking up keywords in an effort to boost SEO, we are not interested. If your submission or author bio references or promotes a business or service that is not in line with our sites content (e.g. a spam or email list), then we are not interested.
Acceptance: Since we do not compensate contributors for posts, we’re more than happy to include a byline and your brief bio containing links to your website, Facebook, Twitter accounts, which we will promote when your article goes live. These links, will be “nofollow” due to the most recent search engine policy changes. Affiliate links will be scrutinized and may be deemed unsuitable for our site, so please understand if we remove affiliate links once live (contact us prior to check about appropriate affiliate links). Please keep your bio to just 2-3 sentences.
Frugal Buzz is a great resource for frugal lifestyle and finance writers to share information about products, services, tips, and more. Once your article goes live, please share with your followers, friends, and family via email, your website, Facebook, Twitter, and any other social media sites you use. You may share on forums, but keep in mind their posting policies and avoid re-posting the entire article (i.e. post a link to your article with a brief summary instead). The more people who view your post, the better it is for you and the better it is for Frugal Buzz.
If your post performs extremely well and you become a regular contributor (two posts a week), you can earn a featured spot on our homepage.
We love connecting with new contributors. While we cover an insane amount of ground, Frugal Buzz consists of just a few people. As such, sometimes we don’t have the opportunity to respond to all article submissions. We can assure you, however, that we carefully read every single submission that we receive. If your post has been accepted, we generally respond within 24 hours. You’re welcome to submit again with a different post after you’ve waited 1 business day. Please send your post in the “Your Message” section below (contact form) with a brief author bio. If you would like to become a regular contributor, we can create an author account; however, we do need to monitor content and quality of your article submissions before we make this arrangement happen.
Disclosure: If you are sponsored by or compensated for writing a post, product review, or other type of article, you must disclose this in the article. By submitting to Frugal Buzz you acknowledge that you accept our terms & conditions, and any form of editing that might occur on behalf of the Frugal Buzz editorial team. You also agree to provide the rights to the article once you have have sent it to us for review or when you publish it on our website.
